Policies & Terms of Use

Shipping Policy

 

Knot Really Art is not liable for any product that is damaged or lost during shipping. All items are packaged with safety and care. Shipping on our larger items comes with standard insurance to cover the cost of the item.

 

Please note that delivery times are out of our control. Items shipped within Canada and the US automatically include tracking with your purchase.

Our items ship Canada-wide for $15 flat rate shipping.* Items with $15 shipping are insured and have tracking numbers. Items are shipped priority mail. Shipping times are typically 2 days within Ontario but will take longer shipping outside of Ontario. Please note that US orders must cross through customs and therefore can take extra time in some cases. Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. We are not responsible for delays due to customs. We offer free shipping on orders over $150*

 

*PO boxes, extreme rural areas and territories are excluded from our $15 flat rate and free shipping policies. Actual shipping charges will apply. You will be sent an invoice before your item ships. The website automatically figures out the shipping price but can not recognize if you have entered a PO box.

Cancelation Policy

Orders can be cancelled up to 24 hours after the order has been placed. After 24 hours fees will apply based on how far we are into the order process. Cancelation requests must be sent to maddy@knotreallyart.com - DMs will not be accepted.

Return Policy

All sales are final as every piece is custom-made. Cancellation requests can be made by email to maddy@knotreallyart.com, but if we have already begun your order we may not be able to accommodate, or fees may apply.

In the case of ready-to-ship items, some items may be eligible for return. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Refund will be issued after inspection of the product has been taken place. Knot Really Art is not responsible for items lost in the mail and we strongly encourage adding tracking and insurance to your item. Items must be returned within 15 days. Proof of shipping date may be required.

​We use wood to make our products, so variations will occur. This includes knots, and other imperfections, but will always be void of cracks or errors. There will be no refunds due to wood grain, knots or other natural imperfections in the wood.

Store Policies 

You will be emailed within 5-10 business days with a mockup and price upon request for a custom piece. Exceptions are made during times of vacation where we are out of office (or out of the shop!)

Liability Policy 

We are not responsible for any injury that may take place while completing a project or using our products. Knot Really Art will not be held liable for any errors in content. Any comments made on our blog or social media posts are outside of our liability and therefore cannot be held responsible for any offensive comments made by third party users.

Privacy Policy 

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information, such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom piece, for example), if you contact me directly.

 

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order or to provide customer support;

when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;

if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and

as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with these Policies and Terms of Use. 

 

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.

Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

 

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.
